ABOUT ORLANDO FLORIDA

Orlando Florida had its origins, according to some histories, around 1836 when a man named Orlando Reeves allegedly died in the area. There are other versions of the origin of the name Orlando, however. The city was incorporated in 1872.The next crucial milestone in the history was World War II, when a number of Air Force personnel were stationed at Orlando Air Force Base ( now known as Orlando International Airport ). Some of these servicemen stayed in Orlando to settle and raise families. In 1956 the aerospace/defense company Martin Marietta established a plant in Orlando. The most famous event occurred in 1965 when Walt Disney announced the futureng of his theme park, Walt Disney World. The famous theme parkd in October, 1971, ushering in an explosive population and economic growth for the Orlando metropolitan area, which now encompasses Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Lake counties.

Orlando is one of the world's premier travel destinations. More than 35-million people visit our area every year, enjoying the many attractions, beaches, and events that make Central Florida a great place to visit and live. Orlando, "The City Beautiful," is best known as the nearby home of Walt Disney World, EPCOT Center, Universal Studios, Sea World and Kennedy Space Center. Lesser known, but equally exciting tourist attractions can also be found at Kissimmee and International Drive.

Whether your interest lies in purchasing Orlando real estate, Orlando homes for sale,  you will find the Orlando real estate market to be rewarding in both market appreciation and being part of an exciting rapidly growing community in Florida. From its humble beginnings as a small city set amidst citrus farming complexes, only Las Vegas has had a more astounding population growth rate in the last 25 years than Orlando.
